Press Release

Pahin Sinte Owayawa has once again been awarded accreditation by the South Dakota Department
of Education, through December 2030.

It is important for a school organization to have been awarded this distinction as Accreditation
gives a school credibility, reliability and authenticates the instructional program it offers the
community. It means teachers and other educational staff are qualified and certified to teach and
administer the school’s educational program.

Accreditation means the school has quality staff, has curriculum that meets or exceeds at or above
the level of standards required, and is safe for students. Teaching and instructional objectives are
in alignment with the South Dakota Department of Education accreditation standards. Pahin Sinte
is well organized and implements the curriculum that instruct students to perform at grade level.
With collaborative efforts of the school staff, this accreditation was accomplished through tireless
energy and effort.

Pahin Sinte was among the first in South Dakota to accomplish this achievement in its initial
attempt with “No Findings” says Ms. Meghan Tatum of the South Dakota State Department of
Education
